about

'Surveillance Culture' by Bait, the title track from the 2018 album was written in response to an RTE television production of Samuel Beckett's play 'Waiting for Godot' in 2017 -- a climate of extreme surveillance of most all of our communication -- home alone and filled with fear of what words might come out of my pen & who might be watching; & the question of whether a philosophic absurdism like Beckett's bears true witness to this political world, that might be more corrupt than merely insane/inept/obscure.
